All Lexington Public Library locations close at 5 pm on New Year’s Eve and remain closed on New Year’s Day.
Lextran operates on a regular weekday schedule on New Year’s Eve, and a reduced Sunday schedule on New Year’s Day.
There is no trash collection on Friday, January 1, 2021 due to the New Year’s Day holiday. Make up day is Wednesday, December 30, 2020.
Groceries
ALDI stores are open on New Year’s Eve with limited hours, closed on New Year’s Day.
Fayette Mall is open on New Year’s Eve from 11 am until 6 pm, and open New Year’s Day from 11 am to 6 pm.
The Fresh Market is open until 8 pm on New Year’s Eve and from 9 am to 7 pm on New Year’s Day.
Lexington area Kroger locations are open on New Year’s Eve until 9 pm, reopens for normal hours on New Year’s Day. Most pharmacies are open 9 am to 3 pm.
Sam’s Club is open until 6 pm on New Year’s Eve, closed on New Year’s Day.
Trader Joe’s closes at 6 pm on New Year’s Eve and closed on New Year’s Day.
Most Walmart locations are open on New Year’s Eve and New Year’s Day.
Whole Foods is open on New Year’s Eve from 7 am until 9 pm and New Year’s Day from 9 am until 8 pm.
Pharmacies
Most CVS locations are open during regular hours on New Year’s Day, but some locations may have reduced hours. Call ahead to your local CVS for specific pharmacy hours.
Most Walgreens are open on New Year’s Day, but hours vary by location.
Post Offices
Post Office locations nationwide will be open on New Year’s Eve, Thursday, December 31. New Year’s Day, Friday, January 1, is a Postal holiday. Post Office locations are closed New Year’s Day. All Post Office locations will open and resume regular mail delivery on Saturday, January 2, 2021.

FedEx is open but operates on a modified schedule and hours on New Year’s Eve, closed on New Year’s Day.

Where to Eat
Cru Food and Wine Bar has a special menu on New Year’s Eve, $65 per guest.
Drake’s is open on New Year’s Eve from 11 am until 1 am at the location in Brannon Crossing. Open on New Year’s Day from 11 am until 1 am. Special NYE menu features three courses plus a toast to the new year with a glass of champagne or sparkling cider included.
Honeywood offers a prix fixe four-course meal on New Year’s Eve from 5 pm until 11 pm. Their regular menu will not be offered after 5 pm on the January 31. Call to make a reservation.
Merrick Inn offers a New Year’s menu including soup or salad, entree and two vegetables for $60 per person. Reservations required.
OBC Kitchen is open on New Year’s Eve from 3 pm until 12 am, and open on New Year’s Day from 11 am until 11 pm.
