The Summit Farmers’ Market Opens

A vegetable stand set up at the Summit Farmers' Market outside of Honeywood

The Lexington Farmers’ Market is setting up a new shop outside of Honeywood in The Summit at Fritz Farm starting May 9, running through September.

You can find seasonal and local products like flowers, veggies, and fruits, as well as meat, cheese, and eggs. Local musicians and chef demos are provided at the market throughout the season. Every Wednesday evening from 4 – 7 pm come out and support local farmers as you nibble on samples, enjoy live music, and sip a craft cocktail or cold brew while you stroll around the market.

About The Lexington Farmers’ Market

In the early 1970’s farmers with the leadership of Pam Miller (later to become Mayor of Lexington) fought for the ability to bring local produce into the heart of Downtown Lexington. This fight eventually resulted in farmers from all across Central Kentucky, banding together to launch a new organization, more commonly known as The Lexington Farmers’ Market (LFM). The Lexington Farmers’ Market operates a year-round market but by May the market expands to over 50 farmers at seasonal locations covering 5 days each week.
