Honeywood founder, Ouita Michel, partners with Woodford Reserve for a dinner experience at the distillery. When is it? What food will she prepare?
Ouita Michel is one of Kentucky’s most celebrated chefs with restaurants all over Lexington and Midway. She is teaming up with noted chefs and pitmasters for a BBQ dinner at Woodford Reserve.
She will be joined with Chef Joy Crump of Fredericksburg, VA, pitmaster Matt Deaton, and pitmaster Chad Lindon for a creative five-course menu built around the theme of smoke.
“Woodford Smoke” is the name of the theme for the dinner taking place during Bourbon Heritage Month and will feature Woodford Reserve cocktail pairings with special pours. Dinner is held on Saturday, September 14 from 6:30 pm until 9:30 pm.
“This is not your grandfather’s BBQ, but a more unusual and elegant approach to the smoker,” Michel said.
Michel is currently the chef-in-residence at the distillery and has been nominated for the James Beard Foundation Award for Outstanding Restaurateur and Best Chef Southeast. Crump is the co-owner of Mercantile in Virginia, has appeared on Top Chef, and has cooked for the James Beard House in NYC.
