With the spreading of COVID-19 throughout the nation, many Lexington events have had to cancel due to the possibility of large crowds. These cancellations include blood drives which comprise the majority of donations received.
In a time like this, blood is extremely critical, but less people are donating. In response to this, the Kentucky Blood Center has extended their hours in hopes that more people will donate and allows them to space out people and follow CDC guidelines of social distancing.
There is a pop-up blood drive on Wednesday, March 25 near the Kroger at Tates Creek Center. Those wanting to participate will still need to set an appointment on KBC’s website.
Kentucky Blood Center will be there until 5 pm.
